CARDONE Remanufactured Lighting Control Modules are designed to meet or exceed O.E. performance. Reverse engineering provides insight into how and why the unit originally failed, allowing our engineers to identify and correct original design weaknesses. All critical components are re-soldered or replaced at our Philadelphia manufacturing plant, and each unit is 100% computer tested to ensure reliability. Do you have the right connections?
You’d better. On a typical ECM board (Engine Control Module), there are six to eight major Integrated Circuit Chips (I/C), as shown to the left. Each of these chips has up to 52 “J” leads all around it, which provide electrical connections to the board.
CARDONE’s Remanufacturing Process
Over time, solder can crack due to corrosion, heat and vibration. When the solder joint cracks, it loosens the electrical connection between the 'J' lead and the board. If just one of the nearly 400 'J' leads has a loose connection, the ECM/PCM may fail and cause problems for the car.
With CARDONE ECM/PCMs, each of the hundreds of 'J' leads are re-soldered to create the firm material mass shown here. This ensures the best electrical connections and a fully functional ECM/PCM.
